Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving seems to have wrapped up most of his summer moves, giving us a good sense of what the team's lineup might shape up to be.

The top line is set with Auston Matthews and William Nylander, but who will complete it? This could be Easton Cowan's breakout opportunity. Selected in the 2023 first round, Cowan impressed during last year's training camp and came close to making the team in his draft +1 season. This time, he might just find the success he's been aiming for.
William Nylander-Auston Matthews-Easton Cowan
Matthew Knies- John Tavares- Mitchell Marner
Max Domi-Calle Järnkrok-David Kämpf
Bobby McMann-Pontus Holmberg-Nick Robertson
Extra forward: Ryan Reaves

The young forward has expressed his aim to earn a roster spot this season. Given his impressive showing previously, he stands a good chance of achieving that goal. Slotting him alongside Matthews and Nylander on the wing would set him up for success right from the beginning of his NHL journey.

In the lineup, Nick Robertson occupies a fourth-line position. Despite formally requesting a trade this summer, it seems unlikely he will be granted his wish, with Brad Treliving stating his intention to keep the 22-year-old. Yet, Robertson's discontent with a fourth-line role might lead to further tension with team management.

With Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson joining the roster, the defensive core has been bolstered, creating a formidable top four that includes Rielly, Tanev, Liljegren, and Ekman-Larsson.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson-Timothy Liljegren
Jake McCabe- Simon Benoît
Extra: Conor Timmins
Tanev was perhaps Dallas' standout defenseman in last season's playoffs, poised to provide a significant lift to the top pair. On the other hand, Ekman-Larsson arrives following a stellar season with the Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers, marking a rejuvenation in his career. If he carries that form to Toronto, it promises to be a highly promising season for the Leafs.
