Paul Bissonnette, host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, has made a significant prediction regarding the Toronto Maple Leafs' preparations for a possible Stanley Cup run.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been hoping for deep runs in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the past five years, but they have only managed to avoid the first round once, losing in the second round of that season. Toronto is once again optimistic about their chances this season after some retooling this summer, which included the addition of Craig Berube and the appointment of Auston Matthews as captain.
In the most recent episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, prominent NHL personality Paul Bissonnette, who supported the Oilers a year ago, has made a significant prediction.

Bissonnette predicted that the 2023-24 Western Conference Champions would regress this year, and that the Toronto Maple Leafs would surpass the Edmonton Oilers in the 2024-25 season. It's easy to understand why he would make this prediction after four games, given how awful the Oilers have looked, but it's never a good idea to rule out Edmonton this early when they have two of the best players in the world.
With Woll/Stolarz in goal and the much-improved blue line following the addition of Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, the Maple Leafs seem to have the better roster on paper, but after Connor McDavid's performance in the postseason the previous year, it's difficult to rule them out. In the end, both sides are certain they can contend for the Stanley Cup this year, and Bissonnette is hoping that this is finally Toronto's year after placing a lifelong wager on it.
