Tampa Bay Lightning's Tanner Jeannot, known for his altercation with Arber Xhekaj, has recently been linked with Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.

Jeannot is also remembered by fans as the player who was traded for five draft picks!
At the NHL trade deadline in 2023, he was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a 2025 first-round pick, a 2024 second-round pick, 2023 third, fourth, and fifth-round picks, and prospect Cal Foote.
All of this for an player who only scored 14 points in 55 games this season.
Given that the Tampa Bay Lightning's facing salary cap constraints, trusted source Elliotte Friedman has just revealed that Jeannot is open for trade.

The expert suggests that it would be beneficial for the Habs to acquire Jeannot, who is earning 2.665 million dollars for another season.
"Tampa Bay needs to free up money to sign, notably, Steven Stamkos. Tony thinks the Canadiens might be interested in Tanner Jeannot because he fits exactly what the team needs. Agree or not?"

In his opinion, it's important for the Canadiens to have a player like Tanner Jeannot. While not the most stylish he could easily win over fans in Montreal.
At 27 years old standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 220 pounds, Jeannot has recorded 14 points, and accumulated 75 penalty minutes in 55 games this season with Tampa.
He also contributed one point in four playoff appearances.
