#Canucks have parted ways with assistant coach Mike Yeo.
The Canucks quickly made a post on social media, thanking Yeo for his time with the team. Notably, they are saying that the team and Yeo have mutually agreed to part ways. This could mean that he has a better coaching opportunity lined up with another team already.
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has mutually parted ways with Assistant Coach, Mike Yeo.
The organization would like to thank Mike for all his work the past two seasons.
Some fans speculated that the move came as a result of the team's powerplay, which struggled in the playoffs. However, many fans correctly pointed out that head coach Rick Tocchet ran the top powerplay unit himself.
we all knew he was a mediocre coach. but come on, let's not forget that tocchet was in control of PP1
As such, it really does seem like this move had just as much to do with what Yeo wanted as with what the Canucks wanted. It seems like the rest of the coaching staff will likely remain intact for next season. Be sure to stay tuned though to see what other changes may be coming to the Canucks.
