The Seattle Kraken have made NHL history with their latest addition of Jessica Campbell, prompting veteran Brandon Tanev to share his thoughts.

Amidst a tumultuous off-season, the Seattle Kraken quietly made history by appointing the NHL's first full-time female coach.
"I believed I could do it....with that inner belief, whatever it is, in sport, in life, you can create whatever you believe in.»
In theory, it's a stellar decision, given Campbell's established reputation even before she joined Dan Bylsma's coaching staff with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL. Now, one of the team's most esteemed players has commented on the appointment.
"Yeah, that's such an amazing moment for her. She's been in Coachella for the last two years with Dan (Bylsma) and been part of his staff. Obviously, she deserves to be, where she is, and that's amazing growth for the game. We are all super excited to have her behind our bench and listen and learn from her. Have her knowledge that she brings to the game to us."
Brandon Tanev's remarks highlight Campbell's high regard among players, emphasizing her strong leadership during her tenure in the AHL. Her addition undoubtedly strengthens the Kraken's coaching staff.
Following a disappointing 2023/24 season that saw them miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Kraken aim for a rebound in 2024/25. With significant changes in their coaching staff, they appear well-positioned to achieve that goal.
