The Pittsburgh Penguins haven't started 2024/25 as they would have liked, and now their latest lineup reveals Tristan Jarry's future is well and truly in doubt.
This has led to some speculation that the team could look to waive Jarry and his $5.25 million AAV salary, and while that hasn't happened yet, things certainly aren't looking good in Pittsburgh. According to reporter John Shannon, the team have sent Jarry back to Pittsburgh as they continue their Canadian road trip in Edmonton following an 0-1-1 start to their trip thus far.
It's clear at this point that the team haven't given up on Jarry, who has three years left on his deal after 2024/25, but with Nedeljkovic and Blomqvist thriving, it's clear he's fallen out of favour. Beyond that, there have been a few changes to the lineup, with movement involving Cody Glass, Jesse Puljujarvi and Ryan Graves as the team look to bounce back and find their consistency once more.
The 2024/25 season is still very young, but given the Pittsburgh Penguins failure to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last few years despite some veteran stars, the pressure is well and truly on, so if they can't turn things around in the near future, much bigger changes could be on the horizon.
