The top prospects of the Pittsburgh Penguins will be heading to Buffalo in September for the third straight year to compete against other teams.
The Penguins made the announcement yesterday that their very best prospects would be heading to upstate New York in September to compete in the yearly prospects challenge. This event will take place at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo.
The Penguins finally have a deep stable of prospects. They will be on display in September.
The mini tournament will be taking place from September 13 until the 16th, and will feature the Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins.
Pittsburgh's schedule includes these contests:
Sept. 13 at 12:00 pm against the Bruins Sept. 14 at 12:00 pm against the Senators Sept. 16 at 5:00 pm against the Sabres
The Penguins revealed which prospects will be attending, and some key names include Owen Pickering, Brayden Yager and Sergei Murashov. There will also be some older prospects who have played in the AHL that will be taking part in this event, such as Scooter Brickey, Logan Pietila and Avery Hayes.
Fans will be keeping a close eye on Owen Pickering, who was drafted in the first round by the Penguins in 2022, and racked up 46 points in 59 games with the WHL's Swift Current Broncos last season.
