After spending his entire career with the Boston Bruins, Matt Grzelcyk has chosen to move on and join the Pittsburgh Penguins.

As an unrestricted free agent, Grzelcyk has signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Though he spent his entire career with Boston up to now, Grzelcyk has achieved several significant career milestones at PPG Paints Arena in front of Penguins fans.
Grzelcyk's journey started at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, where he was selected by the Bruins in the third round, right at PPG Paints Arena.

An interesting coincidence happened when Grzelcyk played his first NHL game, which took place at PPG Paints Arena. Not only did he play his first NHL game against the Penguins at PPG arena, he also netted his first NHL goal against the Penguins, although it was scored at TD Garden in Boston. Despite many of his significant milestones occurring against the Penguins and at PPG Paints Arena, it seems fitting that he's now joining their roster.
"I've been thinking about that a lot," said Grzelcyk as per Michelle Crechiolo of Pens Inside Scoop. "It's a full-circle moment. Feels like something that was meant to be."

Grzelcyk has confessed that he often thought about how his major milestones were achieved against the Penguins in his early career. He feels it might be destiny that led him to join the team, and that's exactly what has happened.
