Pittsburgh Penguins fans can breathe easy as Sidney Crosby's contract extension is nearly complete, with reports indicating a three-year deal worth $10 million per season.

The only remaining issue between Sidney Crosby's representatives and GM Kyle Dubas is the guaranteed sum and payment terms, but it's clear that the 37-year-old is set to remain in Pittsburgh for some time.
#LetsGoPens Crosby deal is close to being finalized. Still comes in at 3x10M AAV. The only holdup is how much is guaranteed and paid out in the beginning. Crosby is going to be in Pittsburgh for a while.
Given the aging of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang, fans are starting to question if it's time to move on. The Penguins have missed the playoffs in the last two seasons, ending a notable 16-year streak.
However, this Crosby extension indicates otherwise. Fans are hopeful that this core group, which led Pittsburgh to back-to-back championships in 2016 and 2017, still has another successful run ahead.
Here's some highlights of 20 year old Sidney Crosby becoming the youngest player ever to captain the Penguins 🐧 to the first of FOUR Stanley Cup Finals, and becoming the youngest player ever to lead the playoffs in scoring.
Is it possible that the third time will be the charm for this trio to reach the playoffs once more?
