Jaromir Jagr's career in jeopardy after suffering major injury
Jaromir Jagr, the ageless wonder of hockey, is facing a significant setback this season.
Known for his remarkable longevity, the Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Famer is currently recovering from a torn hamstring. This injury has left him out of action for Kladno, the Czech Extraliga team he owns and plays for. Jagr's age makes his recovery time uncertain, adding to the concern for fans and the team alike.
I have something to tell you. I know you're asking why I'm not playing in any pre-season games. Unfortunately, I was injured. I know that you supported me a lot and because of you I will not give up and I am training anyway. Back as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.
Jagr revealed that the injury occurred while he was training, despite warnings from his physiotherapist, Pavel Kolář.
When I talked to the physiotherapist Pavel Kolář about the fact that I would like to properly train, he warned me not to do anything that my body is not used to.
Of course, I didn't listen to him... I went for a run. Not the sprints I used to do uphill, but normally straight. But I put weights on my ankles and tore my hamstring.
That was about five days ago. Pavel said it would be three to six weeks. We'll see how it heals.
At 52, Jagr's recovery is expected to be more challenging. Despite the setback, Jagr is determined to return to form.
The worst part is that I'm mad at myself. I was preparing, I dropped a lot (of weight) and felt pretty good on the ice. Now it has stopped again, so I'll have to start from the beginning.
But I'm not one to screw it up when I've put so much into it. The very next day I went to do things that didn't hurt. However, skating is very important and I won't be on the ice for three to six weeks. Maybe it won't be that long, we'll see. When I walk, it doesn't hurt.
As Kladno's season nears, Jagr is hopeful for a swift recovery and a return to the ice. His presence is pivotal for the team, and fans are eagerly awaiting his comeback.
