The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly pursuing Adam Larsson from the Seattle Kraken.

Despite significant defensive upgrades this off-season, the Leafs might not be finished.
Brad Treliving's impressive moves, including the acquisitions of Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Chris Tanev, have revamped the Maple Leafs' blueline. However, new reports suggest that Treliving is targeting another high-profile defenseman: Adam Larsson of the Seattle Kraken. According to NHL Trade Rumours on X, discussions are underway for a potential deal that would see Larsson join Toronto.
Even though the Leafs' defense appears solid, adding a player like Larsson could be a game-changer, particularly if the trade involves Timothy Liljegren, who Larsson could easily slot in for within the Leafs' Top 4. Additionally, including Nick Robertson in the deal might sweeten the pot, but it's likely the Leafs would seek more in return if both Liljegren and Robertson are part of the trade.
Acquiring Larsson would not only enhance the Leafs' defensive depth but also alleviate some of the pressure on Chris Tanev, who is expected to play a significant role this season. With Tanev's injury history, bolstering the defense with Larsson could reduce the risk of him being overworked and potentially injured.
It remains to be seen whether Treliving will pull the trigger on this move or if he will stick with his current roster as training camp approaches.
