Despite Tristan Jarry's recent five-year contract, Penguins fans are already seeing him as a trade candidate.

Even with Tristan Jarry signing a five-year deal last summer, speculation about his potential trade has been rampant among Pittsburgh Penguins fans. Discussions about Jarry's future frequently arise on Penguins live chats and sports radio shows.
This buzz is partly due to the Penguins having two promising goalie prospects who might be ready for the NHL sooner than expected, combined with Jarry's attractive $5.375 million annual salary, which could appeal to many teams.
Several teams are now being considered as potential destinations for Jarry.
«Next summer, if the Ottawa Senators can't re-sign Linus Ullmark or if things go south in Buffalo or Detroit, Jarry could be a great fit for those teams. It's challenging to predict which teams will need a goalie at the NHL trade deadline, as injuries, unexpected struggles, or general dissatisfaction could open up new opportunities (think Colorado or Utah). Dubas is keen on acquiring draft picks and young talent but must first ensure he maintains the strongest possible NHL roster.»

«I believe this might be a lead-up to something more... I think there have been discussions with Anaheim about John Gibson, and I've also heard Tristan Jarry's name mentioned.»

The Penguins must handle the Jarry situation carefully, as trading him before their goalie prospects are ready could backfire. We might find ourselves revisiting Jarry trade talks next summer.
