Former Pittsburgh Penguins great Jaromir Jagr is reportedly facing legal issues as he prepares to fight the city of Kladno over an arena dispute.

According to reports coming in from the Czech Republic, Jagr's team may lose its home because the city has terminated the arena's lease due to the former NHL star not making the payment.
A claim has been made against the 52-year-old Kladno Knights owner for Jagr's decision to forego paying the arena lease for six months while requesting an extension. He was contacted several times by the city to try to resolve the matter, but he refused to cooperate, so the lease has been terminated.

In order to keep his team in that arena, he reportedly has until the end of the season to renegotiate a contract with Kladno. The mayor of the city Milan Volf spoke out about the dispute and remained confused to why this issue is ongoing.
"The current season is not in any danger," a city spokesman told Sport.cz. "It will only come into effect after the last match of the championship."
"So we have to wonder why Jaromir Jagr is not able to honour his year-long contract and pay two million crowns ($86,000 USD) compared to the roughly 40 million crowns ($1.7 million USD) the contract brought him."

No one in the organization, including Jagr, would comment on the situation. The Knights would have been able to stay at CEZ Stadium until 2032 under the terms of the terminated lease. In 2013, the lease agreement was signed.
The decision to hang up his skates for the last time after playing the game he loves for 37 years and having to deal with this lease issue has been an emotional moment for Jagr, who has rekindled his relationship with the Pittsburgh Penguins, with whom he is now employed overseas.
Between morning practices and evening games, the star player frequently took his private plane to Atlantic City casinos to gamble while he was with the Washington Capitals (2001-2004). He also acknowledged accruing a $950,000 debt on an internet gambling site in 2003. He was sued for over $3 million in unpaid taxes that same year. Rumor has it that while playing cards, Jagr misplaced one of his Art Ross trophies.
