After a few key acquisitions last summer, the Pittsburgh Penguins seemed poised to have a great season. Unfortunately, that's not how it happened.
Kyle Dubas had to trade top forward Jake Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes at the deadline, and the team missed the playoffs by a few points.
Now that the Stanley Cup Final is almost over, teams have already started to focus on their summer plans. According to David Pagnotta, the Penguins could have already targeted two players: Andrew Mangiapane of the Calgary Flames and Oliver Wahlstrom of the New York Islanders.
Both players could be interesting additions for the Penguins as they look to win another Stanley Cup with their current core of players.
Wahlstrom, a 24-year-old forward, is set to accomplish great things in the NHL. He's currently a restricted free agent, meaning the Penguins would need to trade for his signing rights or submit an offer sheet.
As for Mangiapane, his experience, leadership, and talent would be useful for any team. At 28 years old, he's currently entering the final year of his contract valued at $5.8M.
Do you think Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins should target these two players?
