Owner of the Ottawa Senators, Michael Andlauer, has made headlines today for openly criticizing NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

If you believed that the Ottawa Senators, particularly owner Michael Andlauer, had put behind them the treatment they received right after the team's ownership transitioned from Eugene Melnyk's estate to Andlauer's group, you might want to reconsider.
This week, while addressing reporters in French, Andlauer delivered a thinly veiled critique of the league's commissioner, referencing a penalty that many believed was unfairly levied against the new ownership group.
"It was a very busy year with a couple of speed bumps," said Andlauer of his first season as an owner. "When Gary Bettman called me last night, I said 'Oh boy I hope that I haven't lost another first round draft pick for next year.'"
Evidently, the new Senators owner is referring to a ruling by Bettman related to a transaction that transpired well before Andlauer's time. Andlauer was caught off guard when he assumed ownership of the team and was hit with a hefty fine as a result of wrongdoing committed by the previous ownership group. The fine included the forfeiture of a highly sought-after first round draft pick.
The incident in question involved the Senators trading Evgeny Dadonov to the Vegas Golden Knights without notifying them of his restricted no-trade clause.
His remarks appear to have struck a chord with his fan base, as numerous fans have reacted positively to Andlauer's comments on social media.
Andlauer's comments aren't the only reason he's making headlines today. There's also news about the Senators' plans to relocate to a new facility. The team's new owner explicitly stated today that he does not intend for Canadian taxpayers to bear the cost of the new building.
Therefore, even though the Senators will still miss out on one first-round draft pick, at least they will soon enough have a new building to look forward to.
