Trevor Zegras, center for the Anaheim Ducks, was reportedly seen exiting a New York gym alongside Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis.

This sighting has sparked renewed speculation that Zegras might be departing Anaheim. The 23-year-old found himself entangled in trade rumors last season amidst reports of strained relations with the Ducks. Additionally, he grappled with substantial injury setbacks, participating in only 31 games. During this period, he managed to score 9 goals and accumulate 15 points, appearing to struggle to perform at his usual level.
«My sources tell me that the guy he talked to the most is named Trevor Zegras. And then, they saw each other at the gym, they chatted, and they left together. I don't know if they went out to eat, but Martin St-Louis and Trevor Zegras left the gym together, arm in arm, Buddy buddy'... Listen, maybe it means nothing at all!»

Considering his injury setbacks last season, it might not be prudent for the Ducks to trade Zegras this summer. Given his recent performance, his market value is presumably at its lowest since his draft, following a season where he tallied just 15 points. Contrastingly, in the previous season, he notched 23 goals and 65 points, securing second place in Calder voting the year before that.
There are rumors that Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks might be available now. However his value is probably the lowest since he entered into the NHL. On the other side, he already showed in last seasons he could be great offensive forward for many years.
The recent rumors circling Zegras have presented conflicting information. General Manager Pat Verbeek refuted claims of the team shopping him last season. If his statement holds true, it strongly suggests that he intends to retain the 23-year-old.
Ducks GM Pat Verbeek says that they were not shopping Trevor Zegras prior to the trade deadline:

«It's a situation there that everybody is speculating on. We want Z to play with us. Hopefully he can get through this injury pretty quick and get back on the ice.»

Whether this holds true remains uncertain. Ultimately, actions carry more weight than words, so only time will reveal Zegras's fate this summer.
