The Montreal Canadiens are still in the midst of a lengthy rebuild, and now, it appears Kent Hughes is looking to make some big trades involving four players.

Despite making many moves to be more competitive, the Montreal Canadiens have continued to struggle, and unless something changes, they won't be making the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
What that likely means is that they will be looking to sell once more and continue recouping future assets, which means that there's some veterans on the block.
Now those veterans have been named by Insider David Pagnotta, who has revealed that Joel Armia, Jake Evans, Christian Dvorak and David Savard are all players the team are not only listening to offers on, but potentially actively shopping.
According to recent reports, the team have been trying to trade Armia for years, and while they may not get any significant assets in return, it will open up a spot for a younger player on the roster.
Surprisingly, the player that may land the Canadiens the best return is Savard, who Dennis Bernstein of The First Period believes could land them a first-round pick in return if they play their cards right.
«If Kent Hughes waits for the right moment, he should receive a first-round draft pick. Some teams believe a veteran like David Savard is the final piece they need to build a Cup-contending team.

A very reliable right-shot defenseman, who blocks shots, plays physically»
This is a very young team with the building blocks to potentially become a contender for years to come, but at this point in time, none of these players are helping them get to where they want to be, so it makes sense if Hughes wants to push them all out the door.
It's unclear what their current market is, but if the team play their cards right, they may end up with some valuable draft capital in return for players that just aren't the right fit for their current team.
