Journalist David Pagnotta has learned that Kent Hughes has made up his mind on players like Joel Armia, Christian Dvorak, and David Savard.

Three names from the organization that will be shopped this summer are mentioned by the TFP writer in an outstanding summary of the Montreal Canadiens' approach for the trade market.
In addition to veteran defenseman David Savard, he also mentions Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia.
Savard might be sold as early as this summer, which is unexpected because many people had advised that he should wait until the next trade deadline. However, this could be the current strategy. Not only is the veteran defenseman a huge asset to the Canucks, but his trade worth is also quite intriguing.
It is true that Chris Tanev and the Dallas Stars have raised the trade worth of Canadiens defenseman David Savard.
Another person to consider is Mattias Ekholm.

Thus, by next autumn, these three names are the most likely to be involved in a transaction.
Regarding Armia, he is one of the season's major stories for 20232024. He rebounded as a dependable and consistent member of the Canadiens after being sent down and overlooked on NHL waivers.
In addition to six goals in eight games with the Laval Rocket (9 points) at the end of the season, 30-year-old Armia concluded with 17 goals in 66 NHL games (25 points). He also weighs 220 pounds.
His one-season contract of $3 million annually is nearly intriguing. Bravo to him!
"Montreal will explore its options, both at center and on the wing. They want to add another scorer one way or another, and they have the assets to do so. Hughes will also shop the names of Christian Dvorak, David Savard, and Joel Armia this summer all three have expiring contracts.

Talks are slowly starting to pick up around the League and on the trade market, and they will only intensify as the weeks approach the NHL Draft on June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas. I bet the Canadiens will do something again. How big? We'll have to wait and see." - David Pagnotta, via TFP
