After being ejected from last night's preseason game against the Ottawa Senators, insider Eric Engels formally confirmed Arber Xhekaj's suspension.

The Montreal Canadiens' preseason has been jam-packed with action thus far. They faced the Ottawa Senators last night after losing both of their games to the Toronto Maple Leafs, which resulted in the loss of their newest player, Patrik Laine, and one of their best prospects, David Reinbacher.
Even though the Senators were outplayed by the Canadiens, Linus Ullmark's outstanding play helped Ottawa win 4-3.
The rivalry between the Senators has intensified in recent years. That's exactly what the game last night showed.
Sens' Ridly Greig gave Habs player Kirby Dach, who missed the entire previous season due to an injury, a dangerous hit to the head during the first period.
Dach was forced to leave the game, but he eventually came back had his revenge on Greig.
But before the fight started, Arber Xhekaj, the enforcer for Habs, took matters into his own hands since Greig would not take drop the gloves. After delivering a strong hit on Tim Stutzle, he was given his second game misconduct in as many games.
In the end, Captain Brady Tkachuk let him go without a fight. Following that incident, Tkachuk and Stutzle withdrew to the locker room.

Many fans were curious about Xhekaj's potential discipline from the NHL's Department of Player Safety after the game.
Finally, Eric Engels of Sportsnet offered an update, stating that the young defenseman for the Habs shouldn't face any more repercussions for his hit on Stutzle.
The Canadiens will eventually need to learn how to defend a penalty or score on the powerplay, but it's not time to panic, especially since the preseason has been completely chaotic with all the fights and penalties.
Montreal Canadiens' return to action on Saturday. They will play the Senators once again, but this time in Ottawa.
