According to Post Media reporter Greg Cowan, Barlow told the Attack's general manager that he wants to be traded and that, upon being returned to the junior ranks by the Winnipeg Jets, he will not report to the team. Barlow, who is currently looking at other options, was a dominant player in the OHL last season at the age of 19, scoring 40 goals and 58 points in 50 games with the team.
Up to five OHL teams are interested in acquiring Barlow, but Cowan claims that the Oshawa Generals and Barrie Colts are leading the chase. Barlow was previously selected by the first round of the draft.
Barlow is obviously aiming for big success in what is likely to be his final junior season before making the move to the NHL. With his skill as a sniper, if he finds the right fit, this could be a huge career move for someone the Jets reportedly have high hopes for.
