Minnesota Wild Make Big Decision on Newly Acquired Defenseman David Jiricek

The Minnesota Wild recently acquired David Jiricek from the Columbus Blue Jackets, and today the organization has made a big decision on his future.
Cameron Crotty, 25, has recorded five assists and a plus-two rating in 19 contests with Iowa this season, ranking second amongst team defensemen with 25 shots on goal.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, posted 13 points (3-10-13), 28 PIM, and 87 shots in 55 games with the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL last season.
He made his NHL debut with the Arizona Coyotes on March 24, 2024, against Dallas, logging 10:03 of ice time and two blocked shots.
In his AHL career, which has spanned parts of five seasons with Tucson (2020-2024) and Iowa (2024-25), he has recorded 44 points (9-35-44), 100 PIM, and 341 shots in 238 games.
A graduate of Boston University, Crotty recorded 27 points (10-17-27), 33 PIM, and 137 shots in 102 collegiate games from 2017-2020 and served as an alternate captain as a senior.
Crotty was selected 82nd overall in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft by Arizona. He inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild that he signed on July 1, 2024, and will wear No. 34 for Minnesota.
He recorded one assist in six games with Columbus and three points (2-1-3) in four games with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL this season.
The Minnesota Wild will host the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for their next game, and Crotty will be looking to make a good impression on his coaches.
