It's been mentioned that the Colorado Avalanche player Valeri Nichushkin, who has stirred controversy has signed a contract to continue his career in hockey.

Nichushkin is currently under a six month suspension for failing a drug test during an intermission. He had to depart from his team during the playoffs after strongly contributing in the first round against the Winnipeg Jets and the initial games of the second round against the Dallas Stars.
In line with new information, Nichushkin will be joining the Media Hockey League in Russia this summer playing alongside NHL players and some Russian celebrities.
"Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin will participate in the second season of the Hockey Media League. This was announced to TASS by Nikolai Osipov, President of the Media League, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"The second season of the league will start on July 6 and will end on August 31," said Osipov. "The matches will take place in Moscow, but we plan to hold some games in other regions. Among NHL players, it is certain that Valeri Nichushkin will play."
Currently, Nichushkin is slated to return to the NHL in November, and the Colorado Avalanche organization appears determined to retain him, despite the challenge of rebuilding trust.
"MacFarland said it's going to be up to Nichushkin to rebuild trust with the organization.

"We've looked at all options, like we always do, and the obvious question is termination, right? And that's not an option."
"It is very plausible he'll be back with the Avalanche"
