Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who is likely playing his last season in the NHL, has been linked to the Colorado Avalanche in a potential trade

While many things in the hockey world are uncertain, there's one thing that is: The Colorado Avalanche need help between the pipes, and they need it fast to have any hopes of making the post season.
The Colorado Avalanche are using a goaltending tandem of Alexandar Georgiev and Justus Annunen this season. Both have save percentages below .900, while Georgiev is sporting a goals against average of 3.76, although he has been improving somewhat lately.
Dennis Bernstein of the Fourth Period recently discussed the Avalanche's goaltending woes, and said anyone who thinks Colorado's issues this season aren't fully on the backs of the netminders is wrong.
"They are last in the league in goals against. And normally you would say, 'Okay, it's not just a goalie.' You never lay on when a team is that poor defensively, it's got to be structure, it's got to be the commitment to playing defense. It's got to be a lot of things that align.

Well, I'll tell you, Pates, that's probably not the case, and here's why,. The Colorado Avalanche are second in the league in shot suppression. Only the Carolina Hurricanes have given up less than the Colorado Avalanche with respect to shots per game."

As for a potential solution, Bernstein points to two-time Stanley Cup champion Marc-Andre Fleury as a potential trade target for the Colorado Avalanche.
"It's the goaltending, and whether it's John Gibson when he gets healthy, or maybe, you know, Marc-Andre Fleury or someone like that. Like they need to fix the goaltending."

With an NHL broadcaster recently calling on the Pittsburgh Penguins to trade Sidney Crosby to the Colorado Avalanche, it would be very cool to see him reunite with teammate and friend Marc-Andre Fleury in Colorado. It would also give the Avalanche a massive edge in an attempt at another Stanley Cup.
For now the Colorado Avalanche will likely hold the line and hope to get some improvement between the pipes. However, there's only so long the team can wait before being out of contention for the postseason.
