Jake DeBrusk reveals the player that intimidated him on the Boston Bruins
Jake DeBrusk's tenure in Boston has come to an end, and he's now shared his thoughts on the one player in the organization who truly intimidated him.
During Jake DeBrusk's tenure with the Boston Bruins, the roster boasted legendary NHL figures like Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Rick Nash. However, in a recent interview, DeBrusk admitted that there was one player whose presence truly intimidated him.
«Super calm demeanor. Like such a nice guy and I love Z, but at the beginning, you're intimidated. You are straight up intimidated seeing Z for the first time,» DeBrusk recalled when he appeared on «The Cam & Strick Podcast» on Tuesday. «I remember the first time I saw him on the ice; it was even more intimidating. We had a one-on-one drill, and I was like, 'Oh my God, I don't even know how to attack this guy right now.' It's like I never seen anything like (him) at the time, but you get used to it as time goes on.»
It's no surprise that DeBrusk identified the towering 6-foot-9 Zdeno Chara as the player who intimidated him the most. Considering Chara's physical dominance throughout his storied NHL career, it's easy to understand why. With his imposing presence, extensive experience, and intimidating demeanor, Chara was a formidable challenge for opponents throughout his career.
DeBrusk also noted that, despite Chara's intimidating stature, he was a great presence in the locker room. With Chara's 6-foot-9 height and physical dominance, it's no surprise that he intimidated players on the ice for so many years.
