Star goalie Jeremy Swayman's unresolved contract negotiations with the Boston Bruins continue to be the main plot point. Reports that an agreement is still far from being reached have escalated tensions.

The Boston Bruins are about to begin training camp, and there is still no agreement with star goalie Jeremy Swayman. The sides are apparently at odds, despite the fact that they have expressed a desire to work together on Swayman's extension.
The Bruins' most recent offer to Swayman, according to former NHL player Ryan Whitney, who brought up the subject on the well-liked "Spittin' Chiclets" podcast, was a four-year contract worth $6.2 million annually (AAV). Swayman is one of the best young goalies in the league, so given his potential and his performance, eyebrows have been raised considering that this is regarded by many as being well below market value.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman did weigh in, confirming Ryan Whitney's report. Jeremy Swayman is requesting about $10 million AAV, Friedman continued. If not, the 25-year-old could at least be considering a deal similar to that of teammate Charlie McAvoy, who signed an eight-year deal worth $9.5 million a year.

Jeremy Swayman's market value is justified by his performance.

The Boston Bruins selected Jeremy Swayman in the fourth round of the 2017 draft, and he has appeared in 132 games for the team. With a stellar .919 save percentage and a 2.34 career GAA, he boasts an impressive 79-33-15 record.
Swayman's performance makes it understandable why he would pursue a big contract. He was crucial in making the Bruins into one of the best defensive teams in the previous campaign. Swayman's value has definitely increased, and he could be a top target for any team looking to add stability to their goaltending.
Jeremy Swayman's contract talks may have hit pause as his agent, Lewis Gross, is currently focused on another matter. Gross, a prominent figure in the hockey world, is known for representing NHL stars such as Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. With a funeral service scheduled for Monday, it's understandable that business discussions, particularly in the sports world, have slowed during this time of mourning.
The Bruins and Swayman will probably continue to negotiate as the team tries to strike a balance between paying important players like McAvoy and locking up their young players for the future.
