The Boston Bruins have signed a former Maple Leafs goaltender to address their concerns regarding the start of the season without Jeremy Swayman.
The Toronto Maple Leafs strengthened their goaltending prospects this off-season by making a big investment in starting goalie Joseph Woll and signing veteran backup Anthony Stolarz to provide experience behind him.
Unfortunately, things aren't exactly going as well for a division rival. The Boston Bruins traded Linus Ullmark, and Jeremy Swayman, who is expected to start, hasn't signed a new contract yet, which is causing a lot of headaches for the front office.
The Bruins are currently scheduled to start the season with Joonas Korpisalo as their No. 1, which is definitely not ideal for a potential Stanley Cup contender given the lack of depth behind him. The season is quickly approaching. The team has now officially acquired 30-year-old Kasimir Kaskisuo, a former Maple Leafs goalie with just two NHL games under his belt.
Kaskisuo spent the previous season playing for the Laval Rocket, an AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, another rival club of these two teams. In 13 games, he recorded a 2.79 GAA and a.909 save percentage.
