Hockey Trade Rumours: Sabres First-Round Pick Traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in Fan Proposal

A fan believes that the Hawks could find what they're looking for in the Buffalo Sabres organization. He proposed that the Sabres could ship Dylan Cozens to Chicago in return for the defenseman Connor Murphy and the forward Philipp Kurashev.

Cozens, 23, scored five points, including two goals this season. He's a very talented player with a bright future in the NHL, explaining why the Hawks would need to send Murphy and an extra forward, according to the fan.

Just like Cozens, Kurashev struggled to produce offensively this season, with only three points in 14 games.

Where the Sabres could gain from this trade relies on Murphy. There's a lot of demand across the NHL for right-handed defensemen, and Murphy is a good one. With seven points in 14 games, the player could bring a lot to the Sabres' blue line.

Murphy was involved in plenty of rumours over the past seasons. However, the Blackhawks kept him all this time, hoping his value would grow as he returned from an injury that came in the way of the organization's plans last year.
