A former assistant general manager in the NHL has just revealed a blockbuster trade proposal that would see J.T Miller of the Canucks head to the Rangers.

Former NHL assistant GM Steve Werier floated an interesting three-team trade scenario that would rock the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks, sending all three franchises in different new directions.

Such a hypothetical blockbuster could potentially alter the rosters, especially since recent trade chatter has heavily involved Canucks forward J.T Miller with his ongoing feud with teammate Elias Pettersson.

The proposed trade includes some familiar names: Rangers left winger Chris Kreider, J.T Compher, a centerman for the Red Wings, J.T Miller, the Canucks forward, and Ryan Lindgren, a defenseman also for the New York Rangers.

- To the Canucks: JT Compher (four years left at $5.1M AAV), Ryan Lindgren (expiring $4.5M deal), Detroit's 2025 second-round pick, and the higher of Detroit's two 2025 third-round picks.

- To the Rangers: JT Miller ($8M AAV, under contract until 2029-30).

- To the Red Wings: Chris Kreider (three years left at $6.5M AAV).

The deal would see both the "J.Ts" swap teams; J.T Miller to the Rangers, who in an intriguing turn of events, drafted him originally, while J.T Compher would head in the opposite direction.

Quite an interesting twist and indeed, it would actually be the NHL's first-ever such trade with multiple players whose initials were "J.T."

Steve Werier added that the full no-trade clause in Miller's deal makes such a move complicated, but it transitions into a 15-team no-trade clause soon.

That change in the contract gives Vancouver far more flexibility if it chooses to trade him this season or ever down the road.
