Insider Elliotte Friedman reported that three NHL players hit the waiver wire on Sunday afternoon.

We have some more action to report from the NHL waivers today.
In breaking news, the Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks placed a player on waivers.
The renowned insider Elliotte Friedman revealed in a post on X that Joey Anderson, Caleb Jones, and Givani Smith are now available to all teams for free.
Read his post here:
The Blackhawks' decision to waive Anderson isn't surprising. The forward only took part in 12 games this season, often healthy scratched from the lineup. He scored one point, an assist, with Chicago in his third season within the organization.
Next up is Caleb Jones. The 27-year-old defenseman only played five games this season with the Kings. His last game was on November 13th and was sent on the ice for merely five minutes. He hasn't registered a point this season with Los Angeles, with a -2 rating.
Finally, Givani Smith, 26, also saw limited action this season, only appearing in six games this season with the San Jose Sharks. He hasn't been able to add his name to the scoresheet and has a -1 rating.
Smith is the highest-drafted player on the list, selected 46th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2016. He couldn't have an impact despite his team's great performances lately, with young prospects Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith taking charge.
An update on their fate will be made in 24 hours. Then, we'll know if they get claimed by another organization, or if they join their respective teams' AHL affiliates.
Whatever happens to them, they should get better opportunities than in their current situation, either it's in the AHL or in another NHL organization.
Stay tuned for more details.
