Creed Jones, a former QMJHL goaltender, has tragically passed away at the age of 24, as confirmed by his former team.

Jones had a junior career in the QMJHL with three different teams before moving on to college hockey at the University of Ottawa.
Most notably, he spent the bulk of his time with the Gatineau Olympiques, appearing in 64 games over three seasons. The Olympiques were the ones to announce his passing through a statement on their official X account. (All posts have been translated from French.)
«It is with great sadness that the Gatineau Olympic organization learned of the death of one of our alumni, Creed Jones. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. 💔»
Fans quickly expressed their condolences to Jones, his family, and the team. One fan shared a photo of Jones during a match against the Quebec Remparts.
«A photo I took of Creed Jones about 5 years ago. 🥅»
«Wow, I'm in shock. My condolences to his entire family and to the Olympiques organization.»
The Sherbrooke Phoenix, another QMJHL team, also offered their condolences, showing a gesture of solidarity from a rival team.
«Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, former teammates, and the entire Olympiques organization. 💐»
Throughout his QMJHL career, Jones also played 24 games with the Rimouski Oceanic and five games with the Saint John Sea Dogs, compiling a record of 27-47-8. He recorded two shutouts, both with the Rimouski Oceanic during the 2019-20 season. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Creed.
