Unfortunately, a junior hockey player tragically lost his life over the weekend when the cottage he and three teammates were staying at in PEI was consumed by fire.

Noah Latimer of the Colts, in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League, tragically lost his life in the cottage fire. Three of his teammates escaped with injuries, one of whom is in critical condition.
"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.

The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."

Noah also had a stint playing for the Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Hockey League. The team confirmed via social media that all four individuals involved in the fire were former members of their team.
We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.

Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts. ❤️🖤

Noah hailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he spent the majority of his early hockey career, also playing in New Brunswick. Notably, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia is also the hometown of Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby.
Our heartfelt condolences extend to Noah's family and friends during this profoundly difficult time.
