Today, new reports are circulating regarding New York Rangers forward Barclay Goodrow, recently placed on waivers and expected to be claimed tomorrow.

Tonight, multiple sources are reporting on Barclay Goodrow's team change through a waiver claim. According to these sources, the San Jose Sharks, Goodrow's former team, are expected to claim him.
«By placing Barclay Goodrow on waivers, #NYR allow themselves some cap flexibility no matter what happens.

Though there is belief there is a pre-arranged deal for the #SJSharks to claim Goodrow, who spent the first six seasons of his NHL career in San Jose.»

According to Mollie Walker of the NY Post, there is a belief that the San Jose Sharks and the New York Rangers had an agreement in place regarding F Barclay Goodrow prior to him being placed on waivers, which would be the Sharks claiming him and relieving the Rangers of the final three years of his contract.

This move would give Barclay Goodrow a fresh start with a team like the San Jose Sharks, which could benefit from his talent and leadership. In exchange, the New York Rangers would gain salary cap relief. It remains to be seen if this is part of a larger strategy for either team.
As soon as more information is confirmed to provide context to this move, we will update you.
