The NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman, dropped a surprising bombshell, much to the delight of the Toronto Maple Leafs!

The Leafs have a busy agenda this summer. Like their NHL counterparts, they're striving to elevate their game for the upcoming season while navigating through a slew of impending free agency decisions.
Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi, Joel Edmundson, and Timothy Liljegren are all in line for new contracts, while John Tavares and Mitch Marner are eyeing fresh deals as they approach the final year of their contracts.
Yesterday, Bill Daly and Gary Bettman unveiled a significant announcement: the salary cap is set to skyrocket from $83.7 million to $88 million, marking the most substantial raise since the Pandemic.
"NHL salary cap will rise to $88 million next season"

The Following comments were made by Bettman:
"It's great to see. I know the general managers and the teams are excited to have more flexibility, and it means that the revenues are as robust as we've been telling you all along."

"I predict that it will continue to go up,» the Commissioner said Saturday. Obviously, with the number of years we had with flat or modest increases, it was necessary to recapture how much was overpaid and how much the escrow built up during COVID, but I believe we're going to continue to see robust growth in the cap."
In Toronto, the additional $4.3 million will be put to good use. It provides leverage in retaining free agents and offering competitive contracts.
Do you feel positive about the Toronto Maple Leafs' future in light of Gary Bettman's announcement?
