Pius Suter is finally getting his chance in the top six after the Vancouver Canucks' rookie forward Arshdeep Bains was demoted, after he spent nearly the entire season quietly toiling away on the fourth line.

Arshdeep Bains has generated a lot of attention this season, particularly after he scored his first NHL goal a week ago. However, he appears to be slipping back down to the fourth line after having several opportunities to play with the top forwards during practice.

Rick Tocchet, the head coach of the Canucks, promoted Pius Suter

Pius Suter, a 28-year-old native of Switzerland, will finish in the top six. With two goals and a key role in the close 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, he had his best game of the year.

his game-winner to make it 3-2 with just 26 seconds remaining in regulation was his true act of service. The Canucks winning in overtime is not exactly what they're known for.

Halfway through the game, Rick Tocchet gave him the chance to switch places with Elias Pettersson and Conor Garland on the second line, and the chemistry between them was immediately evident.

Ahead of their second of three games on the road trip to California against the Anaheim Ducks, the lines looked to be shaken up a lot during practice today. Suter was once again paired with Garland and Pettersson, and Arshdeep Bains moved down to the fourth line.

Naturally, nothing is 100% certain for tomorrow's (November 5) game, but throughout the season, the lines we have seen in practice have been accurate to those in games.
