The Vancouver Canucks have been without Filip Hronek for some time, but now the latest move from the team has signalled that his return is not too far away, with the team desperately needing him back on the blue line.
With injuries to Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and Filip Hronek as of late, the Vancouver Canucks have struggled to continue building momentum, with the team now in a tight race for a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
With both Hughes and Pettersson now back in the lineup, things are looking up, and the latest roster move from the team has signalled that Hronek shouldn't be too far behind them either.
As announced on the team's social media, Hronek will be sent to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks for a conditioning stint, and if things go well, we could see him back on the ice in Vancouver in a matter of days as he looks to build on a career year from 2023/24 and help this team go further in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Hronek was injured early in December and has missed around a month of action thus far, and after he went down, the Canucks seriously took a look at the trade market, as him being absent left a clear and gaping hole on the blue line.
While Hronek may not impact the scoresheet like his defensive partner and captain Quinn Hughes, but he does all the intangible things that make him critical to this team and their success, and while his return won't immediately fix all of their problems, it will go a long way for this talented team to get back on the right track as they chase a Stanley Cup.
