The Edmonton Oilers have stretched their playoff journey to the brink while the Vancouver Canucks are facing a game seven without their goalie, Thatcher Demko.

In the midst of speculation surrounding Demko, rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs has stepped up for the Canucks. Despite not meeting all expectations it's unfair to blame him for the teams performance struggles.
There has been talk, about Demko making a comeback. Initially fans hoped he would be back for games six and seven after his injury. Recent updates hint at progress in his recovery fueling anticipation of his return.
Coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that Demko will not be in goal for game seven following the Canucks loss, in game six. Tocchets statement was straightforward;
"Thatcher Demko will sit out of the net for game seven."
This confirmation brings relief to Oilers fans as they aim to advance to the Conference Finals without facing off against the Vezina Trophy nominee.
The return of Demko could have lifted the spirits of the Canucks.
Silovs has stepped up admirably to keep the team in the game. He should definitely get the opportunity to help the team progress further in the playoffs. The young goalie will have to bring out his A game to lead the Canucks through another match, against the Oilers.
The Oilers have really pushed this game to its limits. Silovs and the Canucks are determined to step up in game seven. The stage is set for an end, to this playoff series.
