Jack Hughes flew to Vancouver to surprise his brother Quinn Hughes for Game 7, after an amusing passport issue delayed his arrival to the series.

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes got an unexpected visit from his brother Jack during the second round of last season's playoffs. Jack, who was recovering from shoulder surgery, had planned to attend the earlier games but was hilariously delayed by a missing passport.
The story came to light during a recent appearance on 32 Thoughts Podcast, showing just how close the Hughes brothers are, both on and off the ice. Initially, Jack planned to attend the earlier games in Vancouver's series against the Edmonton Oilers, but things didn't go as expected.
"Bro, I can't find my passport," Jack told Quinn over the phone, prior to Round 2.

The younger Hughes brother was left watching the games on television instead of cheering Quinn on in person.

Jack finally arrives for game 7 after passport mix-up

Once Jack sorted out his passport issue, he managed to fly out to Vancouver in time for Game 7, eager to support Quinn in person. Unfortunately for the Canucks, they fell short in the decisive game, losing 3-2 to the Oilers, who eventually made it to the Stanley Cup Final, only to lose to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the championship.
Despite the Canucks' loss, Quinn was thrilled to have his brother in the stands for such a pivotal moment. The Hughes brothers have always been incredibly supportive of each other, with Quinn having previously made the trip to New York to watch Jack during the Devils' 2023 playoff run against the Rangers.
The Hughes brothers-Quinn, Jack, and their younger sibling Luke-are some of the most recognizable figures in the NHL. Their popularity has reached new heights, with the trio being featured on the cover of NHL 25, EA Sports' latest hockey video game.
Despite the Canucks falling short in Game 7, the moment was a testament to the bond between the Hughes brothers. Having Jack there postgame meant the world to Quinn, proving that the love and support of family can make even the toughest losses a little easier to bear.
