Over the past few weeks, the Vancouver Canucks have been incredibly close to trading star forward J.T. Miller, with the New York Rangers reportedly still the favourite to land the 31-year old star.
However, that doesn't mean they're the only team involved in trade talks, as the Carolina Hurricanes are also a team of interest, and now, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli has revealed who the dark horse is to land Miller ahead of the trade deadline.
The major kicker here is that Boston, New York, Carolina and other teams can see the Canucks are getting desperate to move Miller, and with the price going way down for the 31-year old, the Bruins and other teams believe they can get him for much less than he was expected to get earlier in the season after the drama began in Vancouver.
The Boston Bruins are in major need of depth this season as they look to compete for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot in the competitive Eastern Conference, with Pavel Zacha, Matthew Poitras and Elias Lindholm currently representing this teams centre depth.
In Miller, they'd be getting a player coming off a 100-point season in Vancouver, and while the noise has limited him in 2024/25, he still boasts an impressive 33 points through 37 games played.
While getting Miller may mean giving up what very little depth this team has for the future, if they believe he makes them a Stanley Cup contender in the Atlantic Division, don't be shocked to see them push hard for Miller, even if they're ultimately outbid by a team like the Rangers.
