The Vancouver Canucks will play Jack Hughes and the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night to wrap up their three-game homestand.

Prior to their three-game road trip through California, the Canucks are hoping to get back on track after losing 4-3 in overtime on Monday night, ending their four-game winning streak.
With a 4-1-3 record and a .688% point percentage, the Canucks are currently ranked second in the Pacific division as they complete their homestand. With games against the Calgary Flames on Friday and the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, New Jersey will begin a road trip that will start with a game against the Canucks and continue through Alberta.
The Vancouver Canucks have made some significant lineup changes and announced their starting goalie as they attempt to win again this evening against the New Jersey Devils.
This evening's game (October 30th) will have a little more significance because the three siblings will all be on the same ice when Devils players Jack and Luke Hughes arrive in town to play their brother Quinn Hughes.
"We're going to have to make some changes," Tocchet told reporters post-game. "Not working hard enough, very lackadaisical.

"I thought a couple of guys were playing slow. You can't play slow against a high-pressure PK. You just can't. I think I'm going to make a couple of changes. We'll talk tomorrow."

According to reports, Arturs Silovs would likely return to the bench and the Canucks would likely turn back to Kevin Lankinen, who would be starting in goal for the fifth straight game. He added another shutout to his resume with a 1.70 GAA, an incredible 94.1% save percentage, prior to his overtime loss. Having said that, Sportsnet 690 reports that during today's pre-game skate, Arthur Silovs was the first goalie off the ice, signifying his return to action. Head coach Rick Tocchet then confirmed Silovs as the starting goalie right after practice.
It will be interesting to watch how Silovs recovers after taking such a long break from NHL action. This will be his first game in two weeks; he last played against the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 15.
Rick Tocchet wants his team to perform better on the man-advantage and generate opportunities for execution based on their intensity.
«I really believe it's the intensity, the awareness, things like that,» said the coach. «So that's the boxes that the guys have to check right now. Sometimes, when you're talented, you think you can just skill your way, and that doesn't work. It's not horrible at 20% but we [the coaches] don't have a good taste in our mouth with it, but the [players] don't either, trust me.»

Tocchet addressed changes to the powerplay for tonight's game:
"We're going to change a couple of things. A couple of guys might bring the puck up with some different guys, but that's supporting the puck at that speed,» said Tocchet. «You got to give them the information, then you got to make sure that you apply it. We'll work on it; the guys had a good practice for it.»

You can watch the game on Sportsnet or listen to Brendan Batchelor's call on Sportsnet 650 and the Sportsnet Radio Network. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday.
