Rick Tocchet, the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, has chosen to alter the starting lineup as the team attempts to extend their winning streak to four games this evening against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In their first road trip, the Canucks quickly turned things around after losing their first three games of the season. They are currently aiming for their fourth consecutive victory. Tocchet has made an important lineup change, as centerman Nick Aman will be replaced by Daniel Sprong, despite the team winning three straight games. He is anticipated to play with Pius Suter, along with Arshdeep Bains, who was just called up.
Artur Silovs will be on the bench as Kevin Lankinen makes his fourth consecutive start in goal as the Canucks continue to rely on the hot hand. With three straight victories, a 1.70 GAA, an incredible 94.1% save percentage, and a shutout to boot, it is obvious why they are riding Lankinen.
Tyler Myers' 1000th game will be celebrated with a pregame ceremony. A fun night awaits you if you arrive early.
Both of the Canucks' games against the Penguins went to overtime last season, with both teams winning a game each. The Penguins' current record is 3-4-1. They will play the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night, the second night of a back-to-back.
You can watch the game Saturday on Sportsnet as part of Hockey Night in Canada. Get ready for the return of the Black Skate jersey at the game, which starts at 7:00 p.m. PT.
