Although Utah Hockey Club made a splash when it joined the NHL in 2024, there are now serious concerns regarding their arena.

Season tickets for the Utah Hockey Club, who officially moved from the Arizona Coyotes to become the NHL's 32nd team, sold out in an instant, causing a stir in the hockey community this off-season. But now, concerns have been raised because, given the excitement surrounding the team this season, a Reddit post has revealed that fans are finding that some seats at the Delta Center have less than ideal views, making it frustrating to properly enjoy the games.
Unfortunately, this only partially allows one to enjoy what should be an exciting time for the Utah hockey community, primarily due to arena sightline issues that could negatively impact fans' overall game experience.
There are 10,000 regular seats in the arena, but an additional 6,000 are said to be "partial view" seats. This means that nearly half of the seats are blocked from view, which is definitely not a good sign.
Although the Utah Jazz of the NBA call the Delta Center home, it has been forced to host NHL action, and the move hasn't exactly gone smoothly. More recently, one fan did not exactly look overjoyed when they showed up for a preseason contest. Rather, they were seated at one end of the rink, where the puck vanished beneath the half-boards, and they were unable to see any of the nets. They might miss a pivotal play or the game-winning goal as a result, which would leave them angry and wondering if the ticket was worth it.
The lowest bowl sections behind the goals, where the bleachers had to be pushed back to make room for the larger ice surface, are the most troublesome for blocked seating. However, there have been some difficulties in making the most of every fan's sightline as a result of this adjustment.
Owner Ryan Smith and other members of management were well aware of the problem and had already started talking about solutions. Regretfully, work to permanently remove these obstructions to the views is not scheduled to begin until April 2025 and will likely take until 2027 to complete. Even though supporters appear to have high hopes for the team's future, it will take several seasons for this visual restriction to be completely fixed.
Utah's obstructed NHL game views are merely a temporary issue for this new team. While full-scale renovations are in the works and may take several years to complete, its management is working on remedies.
