Young Leafs Fan's Halloween Costume Leads to Unexpected Meeting with Auston Matthews
A 7-year-old fan who dressed up as Auston Matthews' hockey card for Halloween was introduced to the Toronto Maple Leafs captain himself.
Grayson Joseph gained widespread attention when his father shared a video of his amazing hockey card costume. The young fan stood inside a life-size Upper Deck card, fully decked out in Maple Leafs gear. He added Matthews' trademark mustache to finish off his appearance.
Earlier today, young Grayson arrived in his costume, and Matthews welcomed him before Toronto's morning skate.
«Yeah, I do look like you. Your mustache is better, though,» Matthews responded.
Grayson received new CCM hockey equipment and a signed jersey from the Maple Leafs captain. Grayson observed the team's morning skate following the meeting. To let his Nana know he had met his idol, he made sure to FaceTime her.
In addition to getting to meet his hero and doppelgänger, Grayson also had a close-up look at the Maple Leafs practice and even got into a brawl with Ryan Reaves because he wanted to throw down and Reaves had no problem complying:
