Last night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins featured Michael Bunting's controversial return to Toronto.

When it comes to defenseman Simon Benoit, the Toronto Maple Leafs may not have the best of feelings about one of their former players.
Maple Leafs faced the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, and they won 4-2 over the Pens and former executive vice president Kyle Dubas. Despite winning, though, Benoit would leave the competition with a rather unfavorable impression of another former Maple Leaf.
Benoit was questioned by reporters on Sunday morning regarding his altercations with former Maple Leafs forward Michael Bunting on Saturday evening. It was evident that Benoit did not appreciate certain facets of Bunting's game, even though he would admit that Bunting is effective in his role on the ice. In fact, in answering the question, Benoit would go so far as to call the frequently controversial Bunting a "diver."
"He's good at his job," admitted Benoit. "I've played against him a couple of years now. That's part of his game. I just don't like divers."

Bunting himself shouldn't be surprised by this, in my opinion, as it appeared the two men had a lot to say to each other on the ice on Saturday night, forcing the officials to separate them several times during the game.
The bitter split between the Maple Leafs organization and former general manager Kyle Dubas, who currently serves as president and general manager of the Penguins, has resulted in a strong built-in rivalry between the teams these days.
It appears that this conflict between Benoit and Bunting may have added a new dynamic to what is rapidly developing into a fierce rivalry.
Throughout the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins will square off multiple more times. It will be interesting to watch if the diving continues when the two reunite in light of the new information regarding Michael Bunting.
