Craig Berube has revealed some exciting news for Joseph Woll ahead of tonight's Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Blues game in St. Louis.

The Leafs will be trying to exact revenge on the Blues tonight in their home barn after they recently suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss at Scotiabank Arena.

The Leafs would love to continue their winning streak after defeating the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets back-to-back this week. The Leafs, who currently have a 6-4-1 record, would love to go three games in a row. For a large portion of the 2024-25 season, Leafs head coach Craig Berube has relied on Anthony Stolarz as his go-to goalie. Although he hasn't enjoyed back-to-back starts this season, Joseph Woll, who made a big commitment to CAMH this week, might change that tonight after expressing his dream to start in his hometown.

"It's where I grew up so a lot of good memories. A lot of family & friends there. I'm looking forward to being able to go there & see them & play there."

Berube informed the media on Friday that the goalie for Saturday has not yet been selected for his team. However, before the team's optional morning skate on Saturday, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube announced Woll as the starting player.

Woll, who hails from the neighboring city of Dardenne Prairie, will start for the Maple Leafs for the third time this season and will be in goal for the first time in back-to-back games. In Thursday's 4-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken, he made 24 saves on 25 shots. In addition to making his first start of the season, Woll played the Blues for the first time in his career, in a 5-1 loss to St. Louis where he made 22 saves on 26 shots.

Additionally, Ryan Reaves will return to the starting lineup. Nick Robertson is expected to be a healthy scratch in lieu of Reaves when he returns to the lineup because he stayed out late to put in some extra work.

We'll have to see if Joseph Woll remains composed under duress or if performing in front of family members will have an impact on him. But one thing is certain: the return of Joseph Woll could spell disaster for the league as a whole.
