Following the terrifying scene from last night, the St. Louis Blues organization provided an update on Dylan Holloway's condition.

After being shot close to the neck, Holloway was helped by Blues medical unit personnel when he returned to the bench at the end of his shift.
As the players and fans anxiously watched and awaited word regarding Holloway's condition, the game briefly halted. It is admirable that Holloway managed to complete his shift, clear the puck, and skate to the bench despite being in obvious pain and suffering. After a quick signal from teammate Alexey Toropchenko, the training staff hurried to Holloway's aid. The injured forward was promptly treated by head athletic trainer Ray Barile and his staff.
The Blues' head coach, Drew Bannister, provided an update on Holloway's condition following the game, stating that he was doing well and conscious during his transfer to the hospital.
I think the only way I can put it to you guys (the media) is if you're at work, you get a call that one of your family members is sick and rushed to the hospital. Holly is a family member. That was a tough. I thought we, as a group, showed a lot of fortitude mentally being able to push through that... We were able to get updates on Holly and kind of put our minds at ease a little bit, and we focused ourselves."

"From what we've heard, he's doing well. It's a good sign."

"Doctors indicated Holloway «will be OK"
Although the extent of his injury has not been made public, we hope it is not as severe as it initially appeared. Fans will be anxious to see them return to the lineup because former Oilers' Broberg, the Blues' other offer sheet acquisition, is also out with an injury.
With six points from his first 12 games this season, the 23-year-old has already displayed some encouraging play. He can now concentrate on his recuperation and, hopefully return to his team soon.
