As the Penguins continue to look for talent that is available, Luke Richardson was signed to a PTO, it was announced by the Penguins social media site today.

Richardson started his career in 2015 through 2019 playing between the GOJHL and OHL leagues with the Kitchener Dutchman (GOJHL) and Rangers (OHL).
More recently he was last playing with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits where in the 2023-24 season he played in 12 games gathering seven wins with a GAA 2.19 and a save percentage of .931.
Richardson played very well at the end of the regular season with a 5-1 win over the Savannah Ghost Pirates April 14. That win clinched the 2024 South Division title for the Swamp Rabbits. In the playoffs, he won both his appearances with a 2.38 GAA and .936 SV%. His play was critical to the success of the team down the stretch.
Something to note, that the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goalie coach Kain Tisi was Richardson's coach with the Kitchener Rangers.
With this PTO, Richardson may have the opportunity to move to the AHL level in the Penguins organization to start. We will see if Richardson is able to make the team and then continue on a hot streak that he was in at the end of last season with the Swamp Rabbits.
