Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has set a new milestone tonight in Carolina, surpassing legend Wayne Gretzky.

Crosby has three goals in a row (5G) going into tonight's game, and he has a four-game point streak (5G-3A) going back to October 29. His five goals during this time are tied for first place in the NHL, and his eight points are tied for fourth place. Only four NHL players have an active goal streak of three or more games, including Crosby.
The Penguins started the match tonight with only 3 shots on net, and are 0-2 down to Carolina after the first period.
However, Sidney Crosby broke yet another significant record during the first period against the Carolina Hurricanes, surpassing the legendary Wayne Gretzky.
Arguably the greatest Penguins player of all time has now surpassed Wayne Gretzky for the most Faceoff wins in NHL History.
There is nothing left for Sidney Crosby to prove. When his illustrious career is over, he will have a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame. This season, the Pittsburgh Penguins have so far fallen short, but their captain has been anything but.

Other Sidney Crosby Milestones to Watch Tonight

Crosby is only three assists away from tying Hall of Famer Joe Sakic for the 13th most assists in NHL history going into tonight's game.
Sid is also three even-strength goals away from tying Teemu Selanne for the 12th-most even-strength goals in NHL history going into tonight's game.
Can Crosby hit more milestones tonight? Stay tuned as the second period begins!
