Sidney Crosby's Hot Mic Reveals Final Words to Marc-Andre Fleury in His Last Pittsburgh Appearance
A few weeks ago, the Minnesota Wild played the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena, which was the veteran goalie's last game in Pittsburgh.
It was an emotional evening for everyone inside the PPG Paints Arena, with a heartfelt goodbye to an all-time legend in Pittsburgh.
There was some nice nostalgia for the team's achievements with Fleury in goal and his famous antics throughout the evening. He also snapped a quick photo with Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin, his former teammates.
Everyone was reminiscing about the good old days during this unforgettable evening, which ended with Fleury being named the First Star in Minnesota's 5-3 victory. He was grateful for the opportunity to thank the supporters one last time, with his teammates and some old friends, Kris Letang and Sidney Crosby, present to watch.
However, the Pittsburgh Penguins revealed today, that captain Sidney Crosby was mic'd up during Fleury's final game.
Watch the video below to hear what was caught on the hot mic.
«He's a great friend, and someone that I shared a lot of great times with,» Sidney Crosby said. «Been through a lot of adversity, too, basically growing up together in the league and trying to find our way. He means a lot to me, means a lot to the organization and I'm sure the fans.»
It's great to see a behind-the-scenes glimpse of these NHL legends' cordial rivalry. The friendship between Crosby, Letang, Geno and Fleury will live on forever.
