The Pittsburgh Penguins have already made one trade after a disastrous loss against the Stars, but now we know three names that won't be moved in a fire sale.
This season, the Pittsburgh Penguins were expected to turn around their poor play and make a push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but at 6-9-2 coming off a historically bad performance against the Dallas Stars, it's a bad time in Pittsburgh. After the defeat, the team moved Lars Ellerto the Washington Capitals, sparking speculation that a fire sale could be on the way.
That has become a very hot button topic in Pittsburgh, and according to Taylor Haase of DK Pittsburgh Sports, everyone but Sidney Crosby is available to be had via trade according to Kyle Dubas.
Now however, Rob Rossi of The Athletic has expanded on that report, revealing that there are in fact two more players that won't be made available via trade, with Rossi referring to these three as "Dubas' absolute untouchables."
Given what all three have meant to this franchise during the boom period of the Penguins, resulting in three Stanley Cups, it's no surprise that the team want them to see through what they started. That is especially true for Malkin and Crosby, who have been with Pittsburgh for nearly two decades, seeing them through the ups and the downs to becoming two of the best NHL players we've ever seen.
