The Penguins will play the Sabres at PPG Paints Arena when they return home tonight after defeating the Montreal Canadiens away on Monday.

Joel Blomqvist, Penguins rookie, played the first two games before Tristan Jarry took the win in goal against the Canadiens. Following the game, this is what head coach Mike Sullivan had to say about Jarry.
«I thought he got better as the game went on, for sure. I thought he made some big saves down the stretch. They pushed again, they pulled the goalie there at the end. We got hemmed in, and he made a couple of big saves there. He made a couple of quiet, difficult saves that maybe didn't look difficult to the casual fan. When Jars is at his best, he tends to make those look easy, and they're really not.

He's positionally sound. He sees the play really well, and I think one of his biggest strengths as a goaltender is his ability to read the play and his hockey sense, and that's when he makes it look easy. When he's at his best, the game comes to him. thought as the game went on, he got better at that.»

Lars Eller scored twice, Rickard Rakell, Kevin Hayes, and Kris Letang, a native of Montreal, joined them in the goal column. Evgeni Malkin, who had a three-point shooting night, is just one goal away from reaching 500 goals in his career. He could break another major milestone tonight against the Sabres and cement himself even further down the NHL all-time greats.
For the first time this season, Jarry, will start back-to-back games, Mike Sullivan announced. It seems that coach Sullivan was happy with Jarry's last performance and is looking to get him back into tip top shape behind the pipes.

Here's how they lineup up this morning

Regarding injuries, according to coach Mike Sullivan, forwards Blake Lizotte, Matt Nieto, and Vasily Ponomarev all skated this morning before scheduled team activities, and their statuses remained unchanged.
While Ponomarev is battling an unidentified upper-body injury, Nieto is still recovering from offseason knee surgery and is on long-term injured reserve.
Lizotte, who is on injured reserve after suffering a preseason concussion, was said to have advanced in his workload on Wednesday.
In their last 17 meetings with Buffalo, the Penguins have a record of 11-5-1. Pittsburgh is 7-2-0 in their last nine meetings with Buffalo at PPG Paints Arena and has won three of their last four home games against them. In six of their previous eight meetings with Buffalo, the Penguins have scored three goals or more.
